Community service

Over the past 15 years I have found that community service is not only important to my community, but also very rewarding to me as a person.  Here are two places where I do most of my community service.

CRW071614DBoy Scouts of America (2004 to present)-

I have been heavily involved with the local Boy Scouts of America in my community.  I served as the Scoutmaster for Troop 152 of the Blue Ridge Mountain Council where I worked with scouts of different ages to help them learn outdoor skills, leadership skills, and the importance of community service. Prior to serving as Scoutmaster I held a number of other positions with local scout groups including Assistant Scoutmaster, CubMaster, Committee member, Webmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, and Fund Raising Coordinator.

I have also been very active as a volunteer with the local soccer association.  I have served in a variety of roles for the club, including coaching a team for over 15 years, serving on the Board of Directors for 3 years, serving as an Area Group Coordinator for 5 years (coordinates all the teams for certain ages), and serving on the Tournament Committee that was responsible for coordinating the annual tournament.  I have also worked in a variety of other roles to help the club.
